Mario's Galactic Adventure Trailer Arrives, Unveiling Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voices
Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the initial complete preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Wednesday. The reveal happened in a Nintendo-focused broadcast that focused exclusively on the upcoming animated film.
The sequel to the successful 2023 release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will propel Mario to the distant reaches of the cosmos. In his journey, he meets a fresh princess character and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
A Space-Faring Quest Inspired by Classic Games
In the vein of the Wii console classics that act as its source material, Mario will depart from the well-known surroundings of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. Throughout his extensive trek, he will encounter once more some well-known personalities, for instance the Luma, a popular character from the original cinematic release.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will confront a new threat in the form of Bowser's irate young son, who apparently commands metallic abilities. Worth mentioning, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also features references to additional popular titles like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Celebrity Voice Actors Returns and Expands
The movie will feature once again of the initial voice actors, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Joining the cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. The casting was verified by the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri.
A Big Year for Mario
The upcoming Mario film is planned to debut close to the 40-year celebration of the original Super Mario Bros. game. Beyond the film, 2026 looks set to be a major period for Mario and his friends.
Nintendo has a set of three fresh titles publicly declared for that year, including Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a fresh Yoshi side-scroller titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
